Terms of service

Who may use the service

You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under the age of legal majority where you live, a parent or guardian must review these terms and supervise your use. You must provide accurate account information, keep access credentials private, and tell us promptly if you believe your account has been used without permission.

What the service does

Stirring Up a Little Happiness provides recipe discovery, preference-based matching, food-rule screening, meal and exercise planning, pantry and grocery tools, and optional nutrition tracking. Recommendations, ingredient prices, nutrition figures, match scores, and exercise plans are estimates and general informational tools. They are not medical care, medical nutrition therapy, diagnosis, treatment, or a guarantee that a food is safe for you.

Food, allergy, and exercise responsibility

You remain responsible for checking labels and substitutions, preventing cross-contact, confirming ingredient suitability, following appliance instructions, cooking and storing food safely, and choosing movement appropriate for you. Stop exercise if you feel pain, dizziness, chest discomfort, or unusual shortness of breath. Seek qualified medical advice for allergies, injuries, pregnancy, eating disorders, or health conditions that affect food or activity choices.

Plus subscription and renewal

When enabled, Plus is offered at $5.99 per month or $44.99 per year, plus any tax shown at checkout. Before purchase, Stripe shows the selected price, billing interval, any trial, and renewal terms. By checking the consent box and completing checkout, you authorize recurring charges at that interval until cancellation. A price change applies only after notice required by law.

Cancellation, failed payments, and refunds

You can cancel or update a subscription through Manage billing in the app. Cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the current paid period; access continues until then. If payment fails, Plus may be limited or removed after Stripe reports the subscription status. Except where law requires otherwise or a specific offer says differently, payments are non-refundable once a billing period starts. Contact Support promptly for a duplicate, incorrect, or unauthorized charge. Nothing here limits mandatory cancellation, cooling-off, or refund rights where you live.

Your content and privacy

You keep ownership of notes and other content you submit. You give the service a limited license to store, process, and display that content only as needed to operate, secure, and improve features you use. Do not submit content you do not have the right to use. The Privacy Notice explains collection, retention, service providers, consumer-health information, and your access and deletion choices.

Recipes, sources, and intellectual property

Branding, software, original recipes, and original or generated photographs are protected by applicable rights. Some recipes are adapted from public-domain or licensed structured sources and retain source and license records. You may use recipes for ordinary personal cooking, but you may not scrape, bulk-download, resell, republish, or create a competing database from the catalog. Source attribution does not imply endorsement.

Acceptable use

Do not bypass access controls; probe the service without authorization; upload malware; automate abusive traffic; impersonate another person; misuse another account; interfere with security or availability; or use the service to violate law or another person’s rights. We may rate-limit, suspend, or terminate access when reasonably needed to protect users, the service, legal rights, or billing integrity.

Availability and changes

We work to keep the service accurate and available, but uninterrupted operation is not guaranteed. Features may be repaired, improved, retired, or changed. If a material change significantly reduces a paid feature during a current billing period, contact Support so the account can be reviewed. We may update these terms with an effective date and, when required, notice or renewed consent.

Disclaimers and limits

To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” and without warranties that every recipe, classification, estimate, recommendation, or result is complete or error-free. To the extent permitted by law, total liability arising from the service is limited to the amount you paid during the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim. This does not exclude liability or consumer rights that cannot legally be limited.

Disputes and general terms

Please contact Support first so we can try to resolve a concern. Any dispute is subject to the mandatory consumer protections and courts available under applicable law. We do not impose arbitration or waive class-action rights through this version. If part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Failure to enforce a term once is not a waiver. You may not transfer your account; we may transfer these terms as part of a lawful business reorganization or sale with appropriate notice.

Operator and contact

The service is currently presented under the trading name Stirring Up a Little Happiness. Questions, legal notices, privacy requests, billing problems, and cancellation issues can be sent through Support. The operator’s legal name, service address, and governing jurisdiction must be added before public paid launch; checkout remains unavailable until billing is securely configured.
