- 1 pound 2-½ pounds Pork Shoulder
- 1 item ½ whole Large Sweet Onion, Chopped
- 1 cup 3-½ cups Chicken Stock
- 1 cup ½ cups Low Sodium Soy Sauce
- 1 cup ¼ cups Mirin (Japanese Rice Wine)
- 1 cup ¼ cups Fish Sauce
- 2 tablespoon 2 Tablespoons Sugar
- 1 tablespoon 1 Tablespoon Sesame Oil
- 2 teaspoon 2 teaspoons Kosher Salt
- 1 teaspoon 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
- 1 teaspoon 1 teaspoon Chinese Five Spice
- 2 item 2 whole Large Zucchini
- 4 item 4 whole Medium Carrots
- 2 item 2 whole Large Apples (any Kind Works)
- 1 tablespoon 1 Tablespoon Olive Oil
- 2 tablespoon 2 Tablespoons Chopped Chives (optional)
- 2 tablespoon 2 Tablespoons Sesame Seeds (optional)
- 1 tablespoon ½ Tablespoons Red Pepper Flakes (optional)

How to make it

Prepare pork shoulder, sweet onion, chicken stock, low sodium soy sauce, mirin, fish sauce, sugar, sesame oil, kosher salt, garlic powder, chinese five spice, zucchini, carrots, apples, olive oil, chives, sesame seeds, and red pepper flakes as listed.

Cook the pasta or noodles in salted water until tender; reserve some cooking water and drain.

Cook sweet onion, garlic powder, carrots, and red pepper flakes and pork shoulder, chicken stock, low sodium soy sauce, mirin, fish sauce, zucchini, apples, chives, and sesame seeds in a wide pan, then add sesame oil, and olive oil and sugar, kosher salt, and chinese five spice to form the sauce.

Toss with the pasta, loosening with reserved water as needed, and serve hot.

Cook whole cuts to at least 145°F, then rest for 3 minutes.
Storage & leftovers
Refrigerate perishable leftovers within 2 hours and use within 4 days.
Reheat leftovers to 165°F throughout.
